~Cancer Baby~

The date your baby is born can determine much about his or her unique little personality. Each month bump will profile one baby star sign, as well as fill you in on parents born under the same sign! If your baby is born from June 22nd-July 22nd s/he will be a little Cancer baby.

The Cancer baby is more emotional and clingy to Mum than most.  They’re sensitive and will pick up on the vibe of the household, whether negative or positive - family will always be more important to the Cancer baby than friends.  When they feel secure, they’re lots of fun but no matter how nurturing you are they will be moody and fussy eaters with very long memories!

How To Handle Them
With lots of love - tough love won’t work on this sensitive soul!  When the tears come, keep them close, touch and smother them in cuddles; no baby is better suited to being in a sling with Mum all day.  Make them feel secure with their immediate and extended family by ensuring strong bonds are created.  Most importantly keep arguments and dramas to a minimum.  Being a water sign, baths and swimming will encourage that precious smile!

Toys and Pastimes
• Close face contact and cuddles, especially from Mum.
• Warm relaxing baths (with soft fun toys) and massages.
• Swimming and toys with water in them or with a similar motion.
• Soft toys and clothes in silver, white, sea green and blue.

What To Prepare For
This intuitive, sensitive soul can be clingy to parents, particularly Mum, so if you want support, introduce extended family and carers early.  Tension will bring out their crabby side but cuddles, protection and emotional empathy will create a loving, placid and serene baby with an impressive temper thrown in!

Their Space
They’d sleep with their parents if they could!  If that’s not an option, their own room will make them feel safe but if they have to share keep tension to a minimum - the colours of the ocean and soft melodies will sooth them. As they’re hoarders, they’ll probably create a special spot for their soggy crusties! 

Easing Them Into Your Family
Cancer is all about family; they love to be with people they trust and know and can be fiercely protective. While they’re usually easy to manage they can be moody and crybabies but they’re no push over – when they want something they’ll find a way – usually by manipulation!  They love the water so bath-time is fun family time.

How Safe Does Your House Need To Be?
With an inbuilt fear of the unknown they may not be strongly inquisitive but they’ll go to impressive lengths to find Mum.  As they like their food and are attracted to water keep an eye on them in the kitchen and around the pool.

Cancer Mother
Given the chance you’ll put your life on hold to coo, spoil and pamper your children.  But you’re a realist and if you have to work to financially support your children, then you’ll do that too.  If having a baby doesn’t meet up to your high expectations, you can let guilt at “not-being-good-enough” ruin years of fun, which is be a shame when you put most of us to shame!  You offer constant support and encourage your child’s creative, emotional and mental development. You love playing and teaching, will never forget an important date and will always get them to the sports field or birthday party on time.  On top of that, your love of home and cooking means they’re totally indulged!

Watch Out For
Your protectiveness can turn to possessiveness and paranoia but giving your child room to breathe will help them grow.  Nurturing your own needs with friends, work and hobbies will make this easier for you.

Taking his role of provider seriously can drain his real, if sometimes hidden loving and fun side.  He’s protective and intuitive so he doesn’t miss much!
